Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews found smoke and flames coming from Komi Auto near 22nd and Y Street around 10:30 Sunday night. Captain Nancy Crist says that led to an immediate call for a second and third alarm.
“When we make it a second alarm it adds to engines to the response and then a third alarm brings an extra engine and truck,” Crist says. “Mainly it’s just extra resources when it’s a structure of that size.
She says crews fought the fire from the inside and outside of the 50-by-100 foot building and we able to knock it down pretty quickly. There were no injuries reported and the cause was determined to be electrical.
Damage is estimated at $150,000 to the building and $75.000 to the contents.
