Kasey Martinson, 56, of Sanborn, North Dakota was arrested Thursday evening following a hit-and-run with a Nebraska State Trooper, a pursuit and an hour-long standoff on Interstate 80.
Shortly after 5 pm Thursday afternoon a Trooper stopped a semi pulling a flat bed trailer near Lincoln after observing the vehicle driving recklessly. After the truck stopped on the shoulder it accelerated in reverse striking and disabling the Trooper’s vehicle and injuring the Trooper.
The truck then fled west bound where Seward County deputies joined the pursuit and eventually State Troopers took over in York County. The truck was eventually stopped after stop sticks were deployed west of the Grand Island exits.
The driver refused to exit the truck for about an hour until a K-9 was deployed which caused the driver to exit the cab and was taken into custody.
The Trooper was treated for minor injuries at Bryan West and released.
