In the early hours of Wednesday morning, LPD officers were responded to an ATM tamper alarm at Pinnacle Bank on Folkways Blvd. When police arrived, they discovered that an ATM had been pulled from its base and was lying on the ground.
A pickup truck was found nearby, and police determined that to be the vehicle used in the theft attempt. LPD soon realized that the truck had been reported stolen earlier in the morning from the 700 block of Lamont Dr.
Total damage to the ATM and the surrounding infrastructure is estimated at $104,000. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Lincoln Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
