Update: Barricade Situation Near 78th And Yankee Hill Road

Update:  A 43 year old man is facing charges after barricading himself inside his mother’s home near 78th and Yankee Hill Road Thursday afternoon.Sheriff Terry Wagner says Travis Swiggart refused to come out of the house so negotiators with the Criminal Interdiction Task Force were called in to assist. There was concern as there was a 15 year old inside the house with Swiggart along with weapons. Swiggart was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Tear gas was finally used to get the situation under control and three hours after it started Swiggert surrendered without incident. He was booked on the outstanding warrant and for child abuse.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Task Force and Tactical Response Unit are in the area of the 800 block of South 78th Street, just south of Yankee Hill Road.
