Pioneers Park Nature Center is inviting local residents to take part in their Twilight Hike on Friday, Nov. 18. The nighttime walk will take place from 6:30 to 8 PM and will begin at the Nature Center at 3201 S Coddington Ave.

The hike will take participants through the center’s woodland, and those taking part will listen for the sounds of coyotes and owls, both of which are active this time of year and at that time of day. No flashlights will be used, so there could be a chance for some stargazing along the way. Andrea Faas, the park’s coordinator, told KLIN News that the hike is suitable for most people with good health.

“There might be a little bit of a hill,” said Faas, who added, “It’s pretty easy walking. “We’ll maybe go about a mile and a half or two at the very most. ”

The event fee is $5. Pre-registration is required by 3 PM Thursday, Nov. 17. Email naturecenter@lincoln.ne.gov or call 402-441-7895 to register. Those doing the walk should check in 15 minutes prior to the start at the Prairie Building.
