A Lincoln man says he had thousands of dollars stolen from his wallet after arranging to meet a woman he had began chatting with on Facebook a month ago. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says the man called police around 9:00 Thursday night near 32nd and O.

“The two arranged to meet in person for the first time,” Sergeant Chris Vollmer says.   The female arrived and asked the victim to travel back to the apartment parking lot with her, to make sure she was parked where she would not receive a ticket or be towed.”

Once the arrived in the lot, the Vollmer says he was grabbed from behind by a man while the woman took his wallet.  “The two then left the area in an unknown direction in a silver SUV,” Vollmer says.

The man told police his wallet contained about $4,5oo in cash. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Lincoln Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
