Nebraska Secretary of State Bob Evnen, in connection with the United States Department of Agriculture, will embark on an journey to Nairobi, Kenya, and Zanzibar, Tanzania from Oct. 31 to Nov. 4. Secretary Evnen lauded USDA trade missions, saying “they have a strong reputation for excellence.”
While there, the secretary and other American participants will meet with processors, distributors, and potential importers from Kenya, Tanzania, and other East African nations. The hope is to establish trade relationships and increase opportunities for American agricultural exports. The secretary additionally expressed his anticipation for Nebraska and Kenya to develop mutually beneficial ties in food security, commodities, value-added agriculture, agricultural technology, and food aid.
