An electrical failure is being blamed for a fire that caused an estimated $50,000 in damage to a building near 52nd and ‘O’ Streets Wednesday night. Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews were called to the scene at 7:00 after receiving a report of smoke.
Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says says fire inspectors determined the cause was an electrical failure involving wiring on the inside of the wall above the front entrance.
Lierman says the CD Warehouse business sign had been removed about a week earlier. Crews opened up the wall to make sure the fire did not spread.
