Lincoln police are asking for the public’s help identifying two people connected to separate incidents in August, including a missing wallet at a gas station and an assault outside a local Sam’s Club. LPD’s Becky Keller says the first case happened on August 11th around 2:00 p.m.

“The victim in this case was on a cross-country road trip from Pennsylvania to Wyoming. He stopped at Fat Dogs gas station near the Lincoln airport and filled up with gas,” Keller says. “He realized when he left that he sat his wallet down on the concrete block near the gas pumps and forgot to pick it back up.”

Video was reviewed and Keller says a woman was captured on camera picking up his wallet and not turning it in. “She had a tattoo of what appeared to be a baby footprint and handprint on her left chest. She was driving a Chevy Captiva smaller SUV.”  You can see video of the theft below.

The second case happened on August 30th just before 5pm outside of the Sam’s Club store on N. 27th Street.  “A passerby called police to report he just witnessed a white male with a pony tail and red shirt, assault a transient man in a wheelchair,” Keller says.

“The witness said he observed the man in a red shirt strike the victim with his fist several times, knocking him and his wheelchair over.” Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who said reported that a man he does not know punched him approximately six times with his fist before knocking him over in his wheelchair.

A passerby was able to snap a picture of the suspect as he was walking away.  “He had on skinny jeans, a red tee, and gray and orange Nike Shox shoes. He had several tattoos on both arms and some type of headband or bandana,” Keller says.
