The City of Lincoln and Lincoln Electric System are offering new incentives to help homeowners install energy-efficient heat pumps. Homeowners can receive up to $4,000 in combined incentives, depending on their address, income and the type of system being replaced.
“ These incentives help make energy efficiency more accessible and affordable for Lincoln homeowners,” says Jessica Kneifl, an LES Energy Solutions Specialist. Kim Morrow, the city’s Chief Sustainability Officer, says $250,000 is available for the latest round of incentives, on a first-come, first-served basis.
“This initiative is an important part of our sustainability efforts and a simple way for residents to save energy, reduce costs, and keep their homes more comfortable year-round,” Morrow says. The City’s incentives have already been used to install 655 new heat pumps for Lincoln residents.
Residents may receive up to $500 to replace a heat pump at least five years old or up to $1,500 to replace an air conditioner. Lincoln residents can determine their eligibility by clicking here.
