South 40th Street has reopened to traffic between Pioneers Boulevard and Prescott Avenue following an emergency water main repair.
Lincoln Transportation and Utilities said Wednesday the street is open in both directions, although northbound traffic has been shifted into the common left-turn lane while additional work continues.
Water service in the area was restored by 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
LTU said additional work is needed at the site and is expected to continue through Friday, Sept. 25. Drivers are urged to use caution while traveling through the construction area.
The schedule remains subject to change because of weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
