Nebraska Secretary of State Bob Evnen has certified the final list of candidates and statewide ballot measures for the Nov. 3 general election.
The ballot will include three initiative measures. Online Sports Wagering Authorization will appear as Ballot Measure 440, Online Sports Wagering Regulation as 441 and Fairness for Girls as 442.
“County election offices and the Elections Division have done an excellent job verifying petitions and ensuring candidates were properly filed so that we could certify the general election ballot on time,” Evnen said.
Evnen said election officials completed the necessary checks despite what he described as an unusual number of issues during this year’s certification process.
State law also requires the Secretary of State’s Office to hold hearings on the ballot measures in each of Nebraska’s three congressional districts. Those hearings are expected in October.
The Elections Division will also prepare informational pamphlets on the measures. They will be distributed at the hearings and made available online and at county election offices.
