Lincoln Police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured in a residential area west of North Cotner Boulevard and Vine Street.

Officers were dispatched around 11 p.m. to the 100 block of Trenridge Way after receiving a report that someone had been shot.

LPD Lieutenant Jason Goodwin tells KLIN News, “Upon arrival, they contacted the victim, who reported an unknown person shot him after a brief argument.”

The victim was taken to a local hospital, and police confirmed his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Investigators have not released a description of the person who allegedly fired the shot or disclosed what prompted the argument, and no arrests have been made as of the department’s initial report.

“No individuals are in custody currently, but we do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public,” Goodwin said.
