No. 1 Nebraska volleyball looked the part of the nation’s top team in a 25-18, 25-15, 25-16 romp over UNLV Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nev. The Cornhuskers were dominant in every area, outhitting the Rebels .337-.054, outserving them six aces to two and outblocking them 10-2.
Harper Murray led the Nebraska effort with 11 kills while hitting .364. Andi Jackson tallied eight kills and five blocks while Teraya Sigler added eight kills of her own while hitting .467.
The Huskers never trailed in set one, trailed only 3-2 in set two before running five straight points to establish control of the set, then trailed 1-0 in the third set before running five straight points to lock in command of the third set. A 9-1 run over 10 rallies opened the lead to 18-6 and all but assured the sweep.
Nebraska now prepares to take on No. 2 Texas Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Las Vegas, Nev. Pregame coverage begins at 1:30 p.m. on KLIN and B-107.3.
