Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen is asking Nebraskans to fly their flags at half-staff following an order from President Donald Trump honoring Dolly Parton, who died Tuesday at age 80.

The flags should be lowered immediately and remain at half-staff until sunset Sept. 1, according to the governor’s office. Trump said the order is a mark of respect for Parton’s memory.

Parton was a country singer, entertainer, businesswoman and philanthropist whose career spanned decades.
