The Nebraska State Patrol says troopers will be on patrol in and around Memorial Stadium for Saturday night’s Boys From Oklahoma concert. “This concert promises to be an awesome experience for fans from across the area,” says Colonel Bryan Waugh, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol.
“With alcohol involved for many fans, it’s important to plan ahead for a sober driver after the concert.” Troopers will be performing high-visibility patrols throughout the area before and after the concert to monitor for impaired and dangerous driving behavior.
NSP reminds all motorists to take advantage of several available ways to avoid driving impaired: get a rideshare, call a cab, or designate a driver. “Large concerts at Memorial Stadium bring a unique opportunity to make some great memories,” Waugh says. “Let’s work together to make sure those memories are positive, rather than including a DUI arrest or a tragedy on the road.”
The effort is made possible, in part, to grant funding from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
