A Wisconsin man wanted in connection with an attempted homicide has been arrested in Nebraska. The Nebraska State Patrol says troopers were alerted Wednesday morning that the suspect was traveling through Nebraska on Interstate 80 in a Chevrolet Malibu.

NSP spokesman Cody Thomas says around 11:45 a.m. a trooper spotted the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near the Alda interchange. During the stop, Thomas says the trooper confirmed the driver was the suspect wanted in Wisconsin.

18-year-old Joseph Niemiec of Pleasant Prairie was arrested on the Wisconsin warrant and booked into the Hall County Jail. Extradition proceedings are pending. NSP is working with the Racine, Wisconsin Police Department as the investigation continues.
