Lincoln Police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal crash that happened in May. Police say 60-year-old Joy Fritz-Hock of Harvard turned herself in to LPD Monday. She was cited and released on suspicion of misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide.

The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. on May 22 at 48th and R streets. Investigators say Fritz-Hock was driving south on 48th Street and attempted to turn left onto R Street when her 2003 red Dodge Caravan collided with a 2015 red Toyota RAV4.

Three people were inside each vehicle. Five people were taken to the hospital with injuries, including 84-year-old Maxine Sundberg of Clarks. Sundberg died from her injuries on June 14. Investigators believe Fritz-Hock unintentionally caused Sundberg’s death by failing to yield, resulting in the crash.

Fritz-Hock is scheduled to be arraigned in September.
