A homeowner watching surveillance cameras helped Lincoln police arrest four people following a reported burglary Thursday night.
Officers were dispatched to a residence near North 46th Street and Baldwin Avenue at approximately 10:21 p.m. Lieutenant Chris Weber said the homeowner was away when the activity was detected.
“The resident was not home, but had observed multiple teenagers or young adults on surveillance cameras walking around the property and into the house,” Weber said.
While officers were responding, the homeowner continued watching the suspects and provided police with updated information.
“As police were responding to the area, the homeowner updated dispatch by saying the burglars were leaving in a red SUV,” Weber said.
Officers in the area spotted a vehicle matching that description and conducted a traffic stop. Police said all four occupants were wearing clothing matching that seen in the surveillance recording. Property taken from the residence was also reportedly found inside the SUV.
Police arrested 18-year-old Kemarion Green on suspicion of burglary. Nineteen-year-old Maeve King was arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting burglary. Two juveniles in the vehicle were also arrested on suspicion of burglary.
