Two Nebraska pitchers were selected within five picks of each other in the third round of the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft Saturday in Philadelphia. After Ty Horn was selected with the 94th overall pick by the Cincinnati Reds, Carson Jasa was taken with the 98th overall pick by the Chicago Cubs.

Horn went 3-3 with a 4.03 ERA and one save across 22 appearances, including 12 starts in 2026, while Jasa was 10-2 with a 3.59 ERA with two complete games and 117 strikeouts across 87.2 innings.

Horn and Jasa are the seventh and eighth Husker pitcher under head coach Will Bolt to be drafted in the first 10 rounds, joining Spencer Schwellenbach (2nd, 2021), Cade Povich (3rd, 2021), Emmett Olson (4th, 2023), Jace Kaminska (10th, 2023), Brett Sears (7th, 2024), Mason McConnaughey (4th, 2025) and Ty Horn (3rd, 2026). They’re the eighth and ninth all-time third-round selections in Cornhuskers baseball history.

The draft resumes Sunday with rounds 5-20 beginning at 10:30 a.m. in Philadelphia.
