Lincoln Electric System is reminding customers its public customer lobby at the Walter A. Canney Service Center on Fairfield Street will permanently close  July 31st.  LES officials say Monday, August 3rd will mark the first business day customers will no longer be able to access in-person lobby services.

LES Manager of Customer Care Heather Schlautman says the utility has spent the past several months helping customers transition to other ways of managing their accounts. “Our focus throughout this transition has been making sure customers know their options and feel prepared before the lobby closes” Schlautman says.

“Customers are increasingly choosing to manage their accounts digitally or over the phone, and we continue to offer several flexible, convenient ways to access our services.” Customers will still be able to pay bills, start or stop service, and manage their accounts online through MyAccount dot LES dot com. They can also call LES customer service Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at 402-475-4211.

Other options include mailing payments, using Walmart Bill Pay, or dropping off checks and money orders in the secure payment drop box at the Fairfield Street service center. Schlautman says the closure will not impact electric service, billing schedules, or payment options.

“While the lobby is closing, our commitment to customers is not changing,” Schlautman says. “Our customer care team will continue helping customers over the phone and through the service options customers already use every day.”

LES says employees who currently assist customers in the lobby will transition to serving customers remotely. The public lobby opened in 2021 after the closure of the utility’s former downtown customer service location at 11th and O Streets.  For more details about the closure click here.
