Lincoln Police are investigating a robbery that left a woman injured and without her cellphone Monday afternoon near 12th and E streets. Captain Todd Kocian says officers responded just after 3:00 and spoke to a 37-year-old woman who told officers she was sitting outside a building she manages when she was approached by an unknown woman.

The victim said she asked the woman to leave. “The suspect then walked up behind her, struck her in the head and took her cellphone.” Kocian says the phone was valued at $250. Police described the suspect as a Black female between 20 and 30 years old, wearing a blue shirt and dark pants or shorts, with her hair pulled up.

Captain Kocian said officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The victim suffered minor injuries. The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Lincoln Police Department at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
