Bryan Health placed a time capsule Monday morning to mark the end of its 100th anniversary. The capsule will remain sealed until the organization celebrates its sesquicentennial in 2076. “By placing this time capsule, we’re connecting the Bryan Health of now to the one that will exist in half a century,” said Bob Ravenscroft, system vice president and chief marketing and development officer.

“It’s a fitting conclusion to our 100th anniversary celebration, where we honored our rich history while looking toward a promising future.” The time capsule was placed in the wall of the lobby at Bryan Medical Center at Bryan East Campus.

It’s the same location where a time capsule was placed in 1985 to celebrate Bryan’s 60th anniversary. That time capsule was opened last September as part of Bryan’s 100th celebration. Over the past nine months, members of Bryan’s Young Professionals Group have gathered items to be placed in the time capsule.

The collection contains dozens of pieces, including a COVID-19 shirt, pins and N95 mask to commemorate the pandemic, Lefft Ventricular Assist Device, glucose monitor and lab automation test tube, Vocera, a hands-free, voice-controlled communication device used by clinical teams  and Bryan Independence Center graduation coin.

In 2025, Bryan Health marked a century of providing care to the people in the region. Bryan Beyond 100 was a 14-month celebration that featured engaging activities and community-focused events. Specifically, employees performed over 150 Acts of Kindness across the state, exceeding the goal of 100 to match the centennial anniversary.
