Lincoln drivers should plan for a temporary road closure in northeast Lincoln beginning next week. Lincoln Transportation and Utilities says eastbound Holdrege Street between 48th and 49th streets will close starting Tuesday, June 30, for water main repairs. The project is expected to last through July 8.
The recommended detour is south on 48th Street to Vine Street. Access to nearby homes and businesses will remain open during the work.
The closure will also affect StarTran’s Route 42-Bethany, which will be detoured while repairs are underway. Riders can find updated route information at Lincoln’s transit website or by calling StarTran.
Officials encourage motorists to use alternate routes and use caution near the construction area. LTU says weather and other unforeseen circumstances could affect the project schedule.
