Lincoln Police say a motorcyclist was seriously injured following a crash at 62nd and Normal Blvd around 12:15 Monday afternoon. LPD says the preliminary investigation determined a motorcycle was traveling westbound on Normal from the Holmes Lake area and a Toyota Yaris hatchback was attempting to cross Normal southbound on 62nd Street.
LPD says the motorcycle hit rear driver’s side of vehicle. The 23-year-old Lincoln man riding the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with critical but non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators say he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The Toyota’s driver and passenger both had minor injuries Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing with possible citations issued at a later time.
