Lincoln residents are invited to celebrate Independence Day at the City’s annual Uncle Sam Jam on Friday, July 3, at Haymarket Park. The free event returns with live music, food vendors, and a fireworks display.

Gates open at 5 p.m., with live entertainment beginning at 6:15 p.m. The flag lowering ceremony is scheduled for 8:20 p.m., and fireworks will light up the sky starting at 10 p.m. This year’s musical entertainment will be provided by Raptor, the U.S. Air Force Heartland of America Band’s popular music ensemble, performing throughout the evening.

The fireworks show is sponsored by Pepsi-Cola of Lincoln and presented by Lantis Fireworks. The display will be synchronized to music provided by NRG Media and Broadcast House and broadcast throughout the ballpark.

Haymarket Park can accommodate up to 8,500 people, and officials say entry will be closed once capacity is reached. Visitors may also watch the fireworks from nearby parking lots, where food vendors including Hog Wild Pit Bar-B-Q, Kona Ice, Klein’s Funnel Cakes, and the Tastee Trailer will be located.

Residents are encouraged to arrive early due to traffic restrictions and ongoing bridge work along Sun Valley Boulevard. Free StarTran shuttle service will operate from 4 until 11 p.m. between Haymarket Park and several downtown parking locations.

Officials also remind attendees that Haymarket Park enforces a clear bag policy, is a cashless facility, and requires minors to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Click here for additional details.
