For the second time this week there was a serious crash at Highway 77 and Warlick Blvd.  Lincoln Police say the crash happened around noon Wednesday. “Upon arrival, officers and rescue personnel located a vehicle driven by an 88-year-old Lincoln woman who had been crossing Highway 77 on Warlick Blvd,” says LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas.

“That vehicle had been struck by a southbound vehicle on Highway 77, causing her vehicle to roll and trapping her in the passenger compartment.” Thomas says extraction equipment was used to remove her from the vehicle and she was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition.

Thomas says she is expected to survive at this time. “A review of the events leading up to the crash will determine if any citations are issued, none have been issued at this time.” Anyone with information on the accident, to include video or audio recordings, is invited to contact the non-emergency number at 402 441-6000 or CrimeStoppers at 402 475-3600.

This was the second serious crash at that intersection in less than a week.  Last Friday a 24-year-old woman was killed when her car what struck by a semi.
