The Firefly Festival is lighting up Bennet again this weekend. The Bennet Economic Development Association is hosting the second annual community celebration Saturday in downtown Bennet. The free, family-friendly event starts at 3 p.m. on Bennet Square and runs into the evening.
Organizers say the festival is designed to celebrate small-town living, local businesses, and community connections. Activities include food trucks, face painting, hair styling, shopping booths, and family activities for all ages.
Local vendors and businesses taking part include Tailored Life, Love,M Boutique, The Bean Box Coffee Trailer, Big Ten Tavern, and Glacial Till. Adult beverages will also be available for guests 21 and older. Live entertainment begins at 3 p.m. with a performance by The String Beans. A community street dance featuring AM/FM starts at 7 p.m.
Festival organizers say the event is about more than entertainment, it also supports Bennet beautification projects and local small businesses. Admission is free, and attendees can find updates through the Hello, Bennet community group on Facebook.
