A Lincoln man is facing multiple charges after a struggle with police Wednesday morning. LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says Officers were called to the area of 52nd and Cornhusker Highway around 7:30 a.m. on a report of a man passed out on a bench.

“When they contacted him, he had a syringe, which later tested positive for meth, and refused to identify himself,” Thomas says. “As officers attempted to take him into custody for drug  paraphernalia, he resisted and began fighting.”

Thomas says Two officers received minor injuries. 34-year-old Travis Stierlen was ultimately arrested and taken to jail on multiple charges, including assaulting a peace officer.
