KLIN was honored with three Eric Sevareid Awards at the latest Midwest Journalism Conference in Minneapolis.
The awards are presented by the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association, and are named for the Velva, North Dakota native and University of Minnesota alum. Sevareid is best known for his work as a correspondent for CBS Radio and Television News from 1939 to 1977.
The “Voice of Lincoln” on 1400 AM and 99.3 FM, KLIN, has a long history of producing award-winning work. In 2026, KLIN brought home three awards, including two for first place submissions.
Competing in the Medium Market Radio division, First Place awards were earned for Evening Newscast – KLIN News with Chase Porter and Sportscast/Program – The KLIN Husker Hour: Remembering Greg Sharpe. KLIN has held the top spot in Newscast for several consecutive years.
Award of Merit was earned in Morning Newscast – KLIN News with Mark Vail.
