Lincoln City Libraries is now providing free access to online databases containing Nebraska court case information. The databases are available on dedicated public computers inside library buildings during regular business hours.

“Increasing access to justice for all Nebraskans is at the foundation of the Nebraska Judicial Branch’s mission,” says Maureen Eck, Deputy State Librarian, Nebraska State Library. “Public libraries play a key role in that mission, helping connect people with legal information and making court resources more accessible to everyone.”

Two databases are available. JUSTICE is Nebraska’s statewide trial court case management system and SCCALES provides access to Nebraska Supreme Court and Court of Appeals case information.

The resources may be used for legal and historical research, genealogy, academic projects, journalism or general public information searches. No appointment is required, and there is no cost to use the service.

The service is a partnership between the Nebraska State Library and the Nebraska Supreme Court.
