Lancaster County property owners will soon be able to challenge their 2026 property valuations.  Lancaster County Clerk Matt Hansen says the county will accept valuation protests from June 1st through June 30th. Property owners are encouraged to file online through the county’s website, saying it is the fastest and easiest way to submit protests and supporting documents.

Protests can also be filed by mail or in person, but forms submitted, postmarked, or completed after June 30th will not be accepted. County officials are advising anyone mailing a protest to request a manual postmark to verify the mailing date.

The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners has hired independent referees to review protests, conduct hearings, and make recommendations on property values. Hearings will be offered either by phone or in person from mid-June through mid-July.

Hansen says filing early gives property owners more flexibility in scheduling hearings and more time to provide additional information if needed. The Lancaster County Board of Equalization is scheduled to make final decisions on August 4th, with written notices expected to be mailed out in mid-August. Additional information and protest forms are available through Lancaster County.
