The Nebraska State Patrol says troopers found more than 500 pounds of cocaine in a vehicle during a traffic stop Wednesday on I-80 in Seward County. Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas says around 10:30 a.m. a trooper saw an eastbound Nissan Rogue following a semi too closely, near Milford.

During the traffic stop, an NSP K9 detected the odor of a controlled substance coming from the vehicle. Troopers searched the vehicle and found approximately 525 pounds of suspected cocaine and 9.3 grams of suspected heroin.

The driver, 23-year-old Gurarppan Gill of Yuba City, California, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver. He was booked into the Seward County Jail.
