Voter turnout was 27.76% of total registered voters in Lancaster County for Tuesday’s primary election.

In local contests, Matt Schulte won the Republican County Commission District 3 contest.

Democratic results include Kristen Anderson for Clerk of the District Court. Kristi Egger for Public Defender. Assessor/Register of Deed Dan Nolte.

School bond issues in the Norris and Waverly districts were defeated.

In the District 1 Congressional race, Mike Flood was unopposed on the Republican ticket, and Chris Backemeyer advanced on the Democratic ticket.

In the District 2 Congressional race, Brinker Harding, a Republican, was unopposed, while Denise Powell won the Democratic race.

Pete Ricketts advanced in the Republican Senate race, and Cindy Burbank will be the Democratic nominee.

Jim Pillen will retain the Republican nomination for Governor, and Lynn Walz will be the Democratic nominee.

In the Secretary of State Republican contest, Scott Petersen defeated incumbent Bob Evnen.
