Lincoln Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying suspects in two separate cases: one involving a hit-&-run accident; the other involving the assault of a child.
The first case occurred around 10 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, in a shopping center parking area near 11th and “G” Streets.
LPD Video Forensics Technician Becky Keller said investigators reviewed video surveillance footage that showed an older white Chevy Silverado pulling into a parking spot. The driver exits the truck, helps a kid out of the back seat, then goes into a bakery to “grab some pastries.”
The driver is seen returning to his car, helping the kid into the back seat, and hitting the corner of another vehicle while backing out.
Keller said the suspect did not stop to provide information to the owner of that vehicle.
Video and photo from the incident are available below.
The second case occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026, near the waterfall fountain at 27th and Capital Parkway.
Keller said three kids—ages 8, 10, and 13—were climbing on the fountain, at which time they said an older white man approached them and verbally confronted them.
The kids walked towards their scooters so they could leave, but the man followed. The 13-year-old said when he sat down on his scooter, the man essentially put him in a chokehold, cutting off his ability to breathe, before eventually letting go.
The 10-year-old said the man chased him and pushed him from behind. The kids believe the suspect left in a dark SUV, parked north of the fountain.
Photos of the incident can be viewed below.
