Registration is open for the 13th annual Good Life Halfsy, Nebraska’s largest running event, which is expected to draw thousands of participants to Lincoln this fall.

Organizers say more than 3,600 runners have already signed up within the first two weeks of registration, with the race expected to sell out.

Linda Brown with Pink Gorilla Events tells KLIN News the race, set for Sunday, November 8, is designed to celebrate runners of all levels.

“Whether they’re the fastest one on the course, the last one, or somewhere in between. We know every single person has a story of why they’re running, what they’re running for, and we want to celebrate that with them,” Brown said.

The race begins at Seacrest Field and winds through Lincoln, finishing in the Haymarket at the Railyard, where participants can gather with friends and family for a post-race celebration.

Brown said more than 9,000 runners typically take part, making it the largest race in the state.

The event also includes a team component, allowing participants to run with friends and earn additional incentives. Organizers are also seeking volunteers to help with race operations, including event-day support, packet pickup and other logistics.

The race partners with local nonprofits, including Habitat for Humanity and People’s City Mission, raising tens of thousands of dollars for community organizations each year.
