Warm, dry, and breezy conditions will lead to very high fire danger on Thursday, especially across northeast Nebraska.  Highs are expected in the mid to upper 80s with winds 10 to 15 mph and gusts to 30 mph.

An approaching cold front will bring a chance of severe thunderstorms on Friday afternoon, especially in southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa.   With that front, highs Friday are expected in the low to mid 70s, with winds shifting to the Northwest in the afternoon; gusts of 30 mph or higher are possible.  All severe weather hazards are possible with this system.

A spring freeze is expected for many locations this weekend.  Vegetation damage may be possible as a result.
