A pedestrian was struck crossing Highway 34 at Fletcher Avenue just before 2:30 this morning. The initial report indicates a 2015 Jeep Wrangler, driven by a 26-year-old man, was Southbound on Highway 34 when the accident occurred. The pedestrian, a 41-year-old man, is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. LPD reports there was no indication of impairment or excessive speed. No citations have been issued, and the identities of those involved are not being released at this time.
