Lincoln City Libraries will host a series of community events April 11 and 12, including bookmobile open houses, a family storytelling program and a local author talk.

On Saturday, April 11, the library system will hold two open houses showcasing its new bookmobiles. Events are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Iron Horse Park and 2 p.m. at the Firth Community Center. Activities will include a story time, music, and family-friendly entertainment.

Also on April 11, the Bennett Martin Public Library will host the “Stories of Us” event from 1 to 3 p.m., featuring children’s author and former resident Janice Harrington and Nebraska State Poet Jewel Rodgers. The program will include activities, free books and community storytelling.

On Sunday, April 12, the Ames Reading Series continues with Nebraska author Mike Bockoven at 2 p.m. at Bennett Martin Public Library. Bockoven will discuss his work and writing process, with books available for purchase and signing. He is the author of several novels including, “FantasticLand,” “Pack,” “Killing It,” and “Come Knocking.”
