Lincoln Police say six people are believed to have died from drug overdoses since March, including two on Wednesday.
“Our thoughts go out to the loved ones impacted by these tragedies,” says LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas.
“At this time, our Narcotics and Criminal Investigations Units are working to determine what substances were responsible for the deaths and if there is any connection between them.” Thomas wants the public to be aware of this upward trend in deaths and do not take anything not prescribed to you by a medical professional.
“Overdoses can happen to anyone and remember, Narcan can help reverse an opioid overdose.” Narcan is free in Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department vending machines around the city at many local pharmacies and online at stopodne.com.
