Aspiring young professionals in Lincoln are invited to a career fair next week hosted by the American Job Center.
The fair is geared towards youth ages 14 through 24. The free event will be hosted at Auld Pavilion in Antelope Park (1650 Memorial Drive), on Tuesday, April 14, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with several local employers, including the YMCA, City of Lincoln, Family Service, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Bryan Health, U.S. Armed Forces, and many more.
A photographer will be on site to take professional headshots and Emsud’s Clothiers will offer measurement services for professional attire.
“This event gives youth in the community a chance to discover new career possibilities, meet employers, and find real opportunities to grow right here in Lincoln,” said Dylan Wren, Workforce Administrator.
The American Job Center offers a suite of coaching and training programs for workers young and old. Its location in downtown Lincoln (1330 “N” St.) has conference and interview rooms for clients to meet potential employers and career planners, equipped with free Wi-Fi, webcams, televisions and iPads.
Those planning to attend the job fair are encouraged to set up a NEWorks account prior to the event. Find more details at neworks.nebraska.gov and choose Option 3. There will be door prizes for the first 50 attendees and a raffle for a prize.
