One of the city’s biggest days of giving is right around the corner and organizers say momentum is is already building. Give To Lincoln Day is set for May 28 and connects donors with hundreds of non-profits in just 24 hours.
Jenny Chapin with the Lincoln Community Foundation says the event continues to grow each year, both in participation and impact. “Give to Lincoln Day is really about bringing the community together. It’s an opportunity for people to support causes they care about and make a real difference right here in Lincoln.”
Chapin tells KLIN News the event has raised over $70 million since 2012. Last year the final total was $9.5 million and Chapin is hoping to reach the $10 million mark. More than 500 non-profits registered last year, serving areas like education, health care, housing, and the arts. Chapin says those funds are critical for organizations that rely on community support to operate year-round.
Chapin says registration is underway for this year’s event and non-profits can click here to register. Give to Lincoln Day 2026 features a $650,000 challenge match fund provided by the foundation and sponsors.
Donations made online, via check, or through donor-advised funds between May 1 and May 28 will receive a proportional share of this fund, magnifying the impact of every donation to participating non-profits.
