No. 24 Nebraska baseball lit up Indiana in a 12-4 victory Sunday that clinched a Big Ten series sweep for the Cornhuskers and continued Nebraska’s dominance at home. The Huskers have won their first 12 home games and raced out to an 8-1 start in Big Ten play.

The dam burst in the bottom of the seventh, as Nebraska (22-6) piled up eight runs to boost the lead from 4-3 to 12-3 and remove any remaining drama from the game. After a Jett Buck RBI single, Rhett Stokes hit an RBI double to center. A two-run single to right by Mac Moyer pushed the lead to 8-3, and Dylan Carey provided the exclamation point with a grand slam to left-center, pushing the NU lead to nine. Indiana scored one run in the eighth, but drew no closer.

The game started hotly contested. The Hoosiers scored a pair in the top of the first to take the early lead, but an RBI single by Stokes in the second and an RBI double by Stokes in the fourth tied the game at two. Buck gave Nebraska its first lead of the day with a home run to left to make it 3-2, Huskers, in the fifth. Landen Fry homered in the sixth for IU to tie the game at three. But in the bottom of the sixth, a Jeter Worthley RBI double gave Nebraska the lead for good.

Carey led the offense, hitting 4-for-4 with a double and a grand slam. Stokes was 3-for-5 with three RBI, including two doubles. Joshua Overbeek was 3-for-4 with a triple, while Moyer was 2-for-5 with two RBI.

Winners of 16 out of 17, the Huskers now prepare to face in-state rival Creighton Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha. Pregame coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. on KLIN.
