The Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department is encouraging Lincoln residents to apply for seasonal full- and part-time jobs with the City. “Our city’s public parks, pools, and recreation experiences are a special part of summertime fun,” says Parks and Recreation Director Maggie Stuckey-Ross.
“Joining our Parks and Rec team for the summer is a great way to get meaningful work experience and make life even better in Lincoln.” Jobs are available for those as young as age 16 at parks, pools, day camps and golf courses.
The city is looking for all levels of experience for the 2026 pool season including manager and assistant manager positions at Star City Shores as well as head guards and lifeguards at all locations. Recreation centers are hiring part-time recreation leaders and assistants to assist with summer programming.
Stuckey-Ross says the Parks Department relies on seasonal staff to help deliver summer programming like the popular Summer Day Camps and Nature Camps, swimming lessons, and free public events like Party and Play in the Parks.
“A job in parks and recreation can help you build your resume and your skills by gaining experience in leadership, decision-making, and communication,” Stuckey-Ross says. “ To view the positions available click here. Seasonal positions will remain posted until they are filled.
