A Lincoln man is facing charges after causing quite a scene at Bryan West Hospital just after midnight Sunday. LPD Public Information Manager Erika Thomas says just after midnight Sunday an officer arrived at the hospital to assist with a DUI crash investigation that had occurred at S. 33rd and D Streets late Saturday night.
“He contacted 33-year-old Hans Devall, who had crashed his black 2013 Kia Forte into a tree.” Thomas says officers found several mini bottles of alcohol, marijuana and THC products in the car. “Devall was taken to the hospital for treatment where he was spitting saliva and blood on and toward both nurses and officers,” Thomas says.
“While officers were attempting to gain control, Devall twisted one of the officer’s fingers and kicked him in the jaw, causing injuries.” Devall remains in the hospital with serious injuries.
