The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 11 AM Saturday to 4 AM CDT Sunday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
Southwest winds of 10 to 20 mph are forecast with gusts up to 30 mph possible. Those winds combined with a relative humidity as low as 10% means any fire that develop will spread rapidly . Outdoor burning is not recommended.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are expected to occur. A combination of dry fuels, strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
