Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews battled a house fire just before 5:00 Monday morning near 33rd and Fair Street. “Tenants had woke up to their smoke alarms going off and smoke and flames in the second story,” says Public Information Officer MJ Lierman.
“They attempted to extinguish the fire with a garden hose and they decided to get out on their own.” She says one person was taken to the hospital for evaluation. LFR believes the fire started near a motorized couch, but the cause is under investigation.
The fire caused around $100,000 in damage.
