Jett Buck went 3-for-4 with two doubles to pace Nebraska baseball to an 11-1 win over North Dakota State Wednesday in a mercy-rule shortened game at Hawks Field. Buck’s second double drove in the 11th run of the game, ending the game early.
In addition to Buck, Mac Moyer was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Case Sanderson was 2-for-2 with an RBI and two walks. Cooper Katskee (2-0) turned in his second straight strong start, striking out eight while allowing two hits and a walk in five innings. Caleb Clark and Pryce Bender turned in a perfect inning each to finish the win.
The Bison actually led 1-0 one batter into the game, as Caleb Corbin homered to begin the contest. But then the Cornhuskers (11-5) posted six in the bottom of the second, one in the third, three in the fifth and one in the seventh, 11 unanswered runs, to clinch their sixth straight victory.
Nebraska now prepares for a three-game, non-conference series against Maine beginning Friday at 6 p.m. at Hawks Field. Pregame coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. on KLIN.
