Samantha Bland and Hannah Camenzind each had three hits, including a double and a home run, in powering No. 10 Nebraska softball to a 10-2, six-inning mercy-rule win over Omaha Sunday at Bowlin Stadium.

Bland was 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and the home run that brought on the mercy rule, a leadoff shot to left in the bottom of the sixth. Camenzind was 3-for-3 with a double, a home run and a pair of RBI.

Nebraska got on the board in the bottom of the second, when Alexis Jensen doubled to left-center, driving in Hannah Coor. Jordy Frahm followed with a two-run home run, pushing the lead to 3-0. Hannah Camenzind then crushed a two-run homer to right-center, building the lead to 5-0.

Katherine Johnson and the Mavericks answered with a two-run homer in the top of the third to cut the deficit to three. But in the bottom of the fifth, Ava Kuszak clubbed a two-run double to left field, rebuilding the lead to 7-2. Lauren Camenzind followed with a two-run single to open the lead to 9-2. Then in the bottom of the sixth, Bland lined a home run to left to end the game early.

Jensen (4-1) earned the win in the circle for Nebraska, allowing two earned runs in 4.1 innings pitched.

The Huskers have won 14 of their last 15 games. Nebraska now enters Big Ten play and will face Michigan Friday at Bowlin Stadium. First pitch is slated for 5:30 p.m.
