The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch Friday for much of southeast Nebraska, including Lancaster County.
The watch went into effect at 3:15 p.m. and will continue through 10 p.m. The counties included are: Cass, Gage, Jefferson, Johnson, Lancaster, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, and Richardson
Parts of west Iowa, east central Nebraska, and northeast Nebraska have hazardous weather outlooks through Friday night.
Strong to severe storms are possible through the evening, carrying the possibility of scattered hail as big as two inches, damaging winds as high as 70 mph, and a couple tornadoes through 10 p.m.
Additionally, NWS said dusting up to a half-inch of snow (40-60% chance) and a glaze of ice are possible for northeast Nebraska late Friday through early Saturday.
